Putin signed a terrible document, nothing will be the same againπŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Russian authorities must strengthen Russian identity and the use of the Russian language in Ukrainian regions annexed during the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This is clear from a document signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, entitled "Strategy of Russia's National Policy for the Period Until 2036."

The document calls for measures to ensure that 95% of the country's population identifies as Russian by 2036. It was published as a decree signed by Vladimir Putin.

The document, which is due to come into force in January, claims that the annexation of the country's eastern regions "has created the necessary conditions for restoring the unity of the historical territories of the Russian state."

The text specifies that it is essential to “take additional measures to strengthen Russian civic identity as a whole,” to reinforce the use of the Russian language, and to counter “efforts by hostile foreign states to destabilize interethnic and interreligious relations and create division in society.”
