Study finds: Only these 2 countries will survive World War III

A recent study found that only two countries would survive a nuclear war. This comes amid escalating tensions in recent days, with America and Israel, both nuclear powers, launching missiles at Iran.

Israel is targeting Tehran, the Iranian capital, while the Taliban in Afghanistan have launched an attack on nuclear-armed Pakistan.

The UAE said on Thursday it was continuing to intercept missiles aimed at Israel as the conflict in the Middle East continues, raising concerns that hostilities could escalate in the coming weeks.

Now, a new peer-reviewed study has found that a nuclear war could wipe out an estimated five billion people, Unilad reports.

The explosions could reach temperatures of up to 100 million degrees Celsius, while a nuclear winter would engulf every corner of the globe, scientists say in the journal Nature. They say both Australia and New Zealand would survive.

Armageddon expert Annie Jacobson, author of “Nuclear War: A Scenario,” used scientific papers and defense experts to predict what would happen if 12,000 nuclear weapons were launched around the world. On the podcast “Diary of a CEO,” she said, “Hundreds of millions of people die in the explosions, no doubt.”

Annie explained that this would also devastate areas that survived the initial explosions. She explained, “Places like Iowa and Ukraine would be just snow for 10 years, and so agriculture would fail. When agriculture fails, people just die.”

The expert suggests that an estimated three billion people could survive the initial explosions, but their lives would be drastically changed. She argues that Australia and New Zealand would largely survive the nuclear winter and continue to grow crops.

Annie explained that detonating thousands of modern nuclear warheads would destroy a thin layer of gas that protects us from the sun. She argued that in addition to damaging the ozone layer, there would also be a risk of radiation poisoning.

And while Australia and New Zealand could survive, she expects that residents there will have to exist in darkness. She predicts that people would be “fighting for food” and “living underground.”

Ani's prediction comes after a series of maps showed that Iranian missiles could destroy several countries, including some popular tourist destinations. Reports suggest the warheads could have a range of up to 1,240 miles (2,000 km).

This means that popular tourist destinations such as Dubai, Cyprus, Turkey and Egypt could be within range of the missiles.
