A family was killed in a rocket attack on an apartment building. An acquaintance of the victims, Natalia Torchinskaya, told Suspilny about them.
Natalia Torchinskaya said that she was familiar with the deceased's family, in particular her husband Roman:
"We weren't friends, but we saw each other often in town."
I know that Roman was a participant in the ATO. During his service, he was wounded, but after that he helped his brothers – he constantly brought them humanitarian aid. Roman was very kind, sincere and cheerful.”
Roman and his family arrived at the house hit by the rocket the day before:
"His mother lived in this house on the second floor. Roma and his family came to her house the day before the tragedy, spent the night there, and had to go to the village to plant potatoes."
"But they never woke up. He had an older brother, Roman's father died a long time ago."
What is known about the missile strike on Uman?
A nine-story apartment building was hit in Uman at around 4:30 a.m. during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine. As of this morning, 23 people were known to have died as a result of a missile strike on the tall building, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
In the Uman and Cherkasy regions, all entertainment events were canceled and three days of mourning were declared.
All community entertainment events have been canceled indefinitely.
As Bogdana Kulik, a spokesperson for the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, told Obshchestvennost, prosecutors are documenting the consequences of the war crime in Uman on April 28, Russian Federation: "Investigators of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office have initiated a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder in accordance with Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine."
In addition to Cherkasy, the Russians attacked the Dnieper and Kiev regions. In Dnieper, a woman and a child were killed and four people were wounded.
Ukrainian air defense shot down 21 of 23 cruise missiles and two drones.
