Jake's peaceful day at the lake is completely turned upside down when a large wild snake suddenly appears in front of him. It moves towards him in an unusual way, as if it wants something.

“You’re like my mother,” Jake tried to joke.
But Mark didn't move.

“She literally appeared out of nowhere,” Jake said. “I didn’t see anything strange.”
“That’s exactly what’s strange,” Mark replied. “Something made her seek help.”

“What was that?” Jake whispered.
Mark strained his gaze.

The wind seemed to die down.
They stay in place.
“Do you think the snake is trying to warn us?” Jake asked.
“I have no idea,” Mark replied. “But until we find out, we’re not moving from here.”
