The road between Ruse and Varna in the Tsar Kaloyan area is closed to traffic due to a serious accident with one death, the police announced.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday when a car driven by a 20-year-old man from Popovo skidded onto a wet patch of road and began to meander. The car eventually spun and came to rest across the road on the last right turn before the fishponds.
At that moment, three motorcycles were passing on the road, traveling from Ruse to Razgrad. The first two managed to pass the car, but the third crashed into it. A Romanian motorcyclist died on the spot.
The car traveling behind them with a Ruse license plate also crashed and overturned in the ditch. It was carrying a 58-year-old man from the village of Bazan, his 55-year-old wife, their 35-year-old daughter and their 10-year-old granddaughter. They were taken to hospital with various injuries and traumas. Their condition is currently being clarified.
Trucks over 12 tons traveling from Razgrad in the direction of Ruse were diverted to pass through the E-70 fork for Kubrat - Kubrat - Ruse.
