Noticing odd things in our homes can be quite unsettling.
I don’t know about you, but when I come across a new mark on the wall or catch a whiff of an unusual smell, I can’t help but worry if it’s a sign of something that might escalate and eventually cost me to repair.
That’s why I completely understand the concern of one internet user who became alarmed after discovering black dots mysteriously appearing in her kitchen.
It goes without saying that finding strange marks or unexplained phenomena in the kitchen can be quite alarming.
After all, this is the space where we prepare our meals, and it’s typically the one area in our home where we want to maintain complete control over everything that happens.

One homeowner, however, found herself puzzled by the reason for a number of unusual black dots she kept discovering.
“Does anyone know what these spots could be?” she inquired in the Facebook group ‘WeLoveMrsHinch’.
“They initially showed up on the kitchen tiles, and then this morning, they appeared on the PC we have in the kitchen.”
Fortunately, other Facebook users were able to provide her with a clear answer, although the responses probably weren’t what she was wishing to hear.

“Take a look and you might spot a spider,” someone commented on her post.
“This happens frequently during this season, with spiders leaving droppings everywhere,” another user added.
As per the Pest Guidance website, spiders “don’t produce solid waste; their droppings are thick and liquid” and look like dark ink stains, often found on walls and surfaces.
“Their waste appears as splats or drips in shades of black, brown, white, or grey,” the site explains.
“The color or type of droppings varies by species, but generally, you can expect to see dark splats or drips.
“These droppings consist of food and other waste materials expelled from the spider’s body.”
I had no idea about spider droppings, did you? Share your thoughts
